Specific Learning Targets

Graduates of the degree course in Business and Economics must:

  • Have an adequate knowledge of economic subjects such as to enable the acquisition of in-depth knowledge of economic theory that highlight, also in historical perspective, the dynamics of development, relations between economy and environment, knowledge of the increasingly globalized markets.
  • Know how to deal with problems of the economic systems and the companies that make part of it.
  • Gain proficiency of mathematical-statistical tools in order to acquire specific skills on the main quantitative indicators available for the characterization of an economic system in a national and international framework
  • Get to the bottom of quantitative tools and techniques necessary to make decisions in the public, private and non-profit organizations in every sector of economic life.
  • Learn the general principles of law and deepen specific core themes that will enable them to consciously undertake consulting and free-lance activities.

Final examination peculiarities

The final examination consists of a written report and a discussion regarding a paper which contents is agreed with the teacher-supervisor on the basis of the following types of reference: *in-depth knowledge of the methodology related to teaching or another didactic activity; * elaboration of a case study; * presentation of an internship experience; * other eventual modality that will be specified in the regulation of the course of the study. In the final examination evaluation, it will be taken in consideration, in addition to the quality of the work, also the capacity of the synthesis and the quality of the oral and written presentation of the activities.

Professionals with this job title typically work in the fields of: * freelance (auditors and accountants, after passing the qualification and enrollment in professional  registers); * banking and financing sector (banks, insurance, financial market, international financial institutions); * economics and services sector (public, private and social economy); * centers for banking and financial companies studies, and research centers for national and international organizations; * journalism specialized in financing sector; * professional and experimental economic, dynamic and complex activities (regarding banks, stock market, marketing) that deal with risk, where is requested a profound capacity of analyzing, interpreting and deciding in conditions of limited rationality.

The Business and Economics course offers a possibility for perfecting the legal and business skills, to enhance the preparation of the ones who wish to work in the consultant and accounting sectors. By pursuing that course it will be possible to acquire analytic and conceptual skills for interpreting and resolving management and economic problems, referring to accounting, finances and management services.

Other than the peculiarities of the various study curricula, the student has at his disposal a large scale of possibilities to personalize its course of study by choosing two teachers.

At the end of the course the student will have to attend an internship and a final exam.
